Job Description

Events Manager For Scopa & Dama

Scopa Italian Roots, and Dama, two beautiful restaurants from acclaimed chef, Antonia Lafasso, in Los Angeles are hiring an Events Manager to build and run the private events program. You will own the full cycle: bringing in new business, responding to inquiries, selling and contracting events, and making sure every one of them is executed cleanly. Events include private dining, semi-private parties, full buyouts, and onsite and offsite catering.

What You'll Do

Sales and Client Relations

  • Respond to all inquiries (email, phone, Tripleseat, walk-ins) within 48 business hours with tailored proposals.
  • Proactively pursue new business: corporate events, private parties, weddings, fundraisers, and holiday programming.
  • Conduct site tours and walkthroughs, and cross-sell between venues based on fit and availability.
  • Write accurate proposals, contracts, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Maintain client relationships through and beyond the event to drive repeat business.

Planning and Execution

  • Lead weekly BEO meetings with front of house, kitchen, and management so every event is executed flawlessly.
  • Coordinate with the culinary, beverage, and management teams on event menus, pricing, and service plans.
  • Manage all event logistics: setup, rentals, vendors, AV, decor, and day-of execution.
  • Handle vendor orders, confirmations, on-site direction, and invoices.
  • Ensure required insurance certificates, permits, and licenses are in place on time.

Systems and Reporting

  • Keep all event documentation, contracts, billing, and payments current in Tripleseat.
  • Reconcile event checks with venue management.
  • Report monthly and quarterly on sales, lead volume and conversion, and guest satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain the systems and workflows that let the events program grow.

Brand and Community

  • Represent the restaurants at community and industry events to develop new business.

What We're Looking For

  • 3 to 5 years in a similar role, ideally in restaurant, venue, or catering sales.
  • A book of business to bring with you.
  • A closer who is also a planner: comfortable selling, then following through on every detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Highly organized, solution-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Proficient in Tripleseat, Google Workspace, and MS Office.
  • Available for nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as events require.
  • Local travel between venues is required.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stay on your feet for long stretches.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Director of Operations and the General Managers of each restaurant. Works closely with kitchen and beverage leadership.

Compensation

  • Hourly role with overtime. Approximately $70,000 annually wages plus commission.
  • 3% commission on newly booked and executed events
